renaissance man, Faust Vrančić, a linguist, historian, inventor, and writer,
tested the world‘s first parachute from the Prvić Luka church bell tower in
the 16th century. He is buried in the church graveyard. Here island dwellers
keep age-old formulas alive on the drying of figs, and the making of olive
oil and the herbal liquor - "rakia." Taste them and perhaps take some with

During the appropriate season pick olives, asparagus or a variety of
medicinal plants with local experts. Take a moment to sit on the rocks by
the sea before taking a dip with a snorkel to explore Prvić‘s underwater

the UNESCO-protected Kornati natural reserve, or the natural parks of
Paklenica and Lake Vrana.
